From 1st April 2000 We will be retailing our plants in Helensburgh at Woodend Nursery, West Montrose Street.
We grow our large range of violas and violettas in our nursery in an old walled garden near Loch Lomond along with an interesting selection of herbaceous perennials and herbs as organically as possible in peat-free compost approved by the Soil Association
Our range of violas must not be confused with bedding pansies or annual violas. All are hardy perennials, many of them developed in the 19th century in Scotland as they are particularly well suited to the Scottish climate with its cooler moist summers. This has meant that TV programmes and magazines which are still orientated to southern-UK gardeners have only recently begun to feature these particularly useful plants with their exceptionally long flowering period from mid-spring well into the autumn.
Violas are our passion - our collection began with the purchase of a single variety and has now developed into possibly one of the largest in Scotland with over 130 named varieties as well as trialling our own seedlings
We are sorry that we do not at the moment ship plants to the USA.
