Devon Violet Nursery Plants

Viola hederacea. ( The Ivy-leaf Violet)

Mainly summer flowering in the UK. The Ivy violet so named after its trailing habit is a native of Australia. The most widely known variety of the flower has a blue purple centre and white edges and is held three or so inches above bright green small rounded leaves. It has a creeping habit .It may not be as tender as some think and is worth trying outdoors in the UK in a suitable area.

This picture shows the plant in a Cheshire location in late summer 31/08/2000
